Devimpact Institute is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable IFRS 9 Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), particularly IFRS 9, and possess excellent communication and teaching skills. The role involves designing and delivering training sessions to educate finance professionals, accounting staff, and other relevant stakeholders on the intricacies of IFRS 9, including its principles, application, and implications for financial reporting.

Description

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, case studies, exercises, and handouts, to effectively convey the principles and requirements of IFRS 9.
  • Design training programs tailored to the specific needs and knowledge levels of diverse audiences, such as finance professionals, accounting teams, auditors, and senior management.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars on IFRS 9, both in-person and through virtual platforms, ensuring participants' comprehension and retention of key concepts.
  • Provide guidance and clarification to participants on complex topics within IFRS 9, addressing questions, concerns, and practical challenges they may encounter in applying the standard.
  • Stay abreast of updates, amendments, and interpretations related to IFRS 9, incorporating relevant changes into training materials and sessions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as learning and development teams, subject matter experts, and management, to assess training needs and objectives, and tailor training programs accordingly.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through participant feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Offer ongoing support and resources to participants post-training, including access to reference materials, online forums, and additional learning opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments in financial reporting and accounting standards, and integrate relevant insights into training content and delivery.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums, showcasing expertise in IFRS 9 and contributing to thought leadership in the field.

Education

  • Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.

More Details on Experience

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, gained through a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, auditing, or advisory roles.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering training programs, workshops, or seminars, preferably in a corporate or professional education setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and training delivery techniques, including the use of multimedia and interactive tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to critically evaluate financial information, interpret accounting standards, and apply judgment in practical scenarios.

Mode of Engagement

Successful consultants will be engaged whenever the training or consultancy opportunity becomes available. The consultant will be engaged on a part time basis for the duration of the training/consultancy assignment.
