Job Summary
Devimpact Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grants Management Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the nonprofit sector, with in-depth knowledge of grant management principles and practices, particularly in relation to funding sources such as USAID funds, World Bank funding, and major donor organizations. The role involves designing and delivering training programs to build the capacity of nonprofit professionals in effectively managing grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and maximizing impact.
Description
- Develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, case studies, and exercises, to educate nonprofit professionals on best practices in grant management, focusing on USAID funds, World Bank funding, and grants from major donor organizations.
- Design and facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and webinars on grant management topics, such as proposal development, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and compliance.
- Customize training programs to meet the specific needs and skill levels of diverse audiences, including grant managers, program officers, finance staff, and executive leadership within nonprofit organizations.
- Provide guidance and support to participants in understanding and navigating the requirements and regulations associated with different funding sources, including USAID regulations, World Bank procurement guidelines, and specific grant terms and conditions.
- Incorporate practical examples, case studies, and real-life scenarios into training delivery to enhance participants' understanding and application of grant management concepts and techniques.
- Offer expert advice and recommendations on strategies for successful grant acquisition, proposal writing, and donor relationship management, drawing on insights from experience with various funding sources.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in grant management within the nonprofit sector and integrate relevant updates into training content and delivery methodologies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through participant feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve training programs.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to participants post-training, including access to resources, tools, and networks to facilitate continued learning and professional development.
Education
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Financial Management, Business Administration, Project Management or a related discipline.
More Details on Experience
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) working in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on grant management, fundraising, or program management and implementation.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of grant management principles, rules and regulations, particularly in relation to USAID funds, World Bank funding, and grants from major charitable organizations.
- Proven experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs or capacity-building initiatives for nonprofit professionals, preferably in a training or consulting capacity.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences through dynamic and interactive training methodologies.
- Familiarity with donor requirements, compliance standards, and reporting procedures for different funding sources, including USAID regulations, World Bank procurement guidelines, and donor-specific policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically assess grant management challenges and develop practical solutions and recommendations.

Mode of Engagement
Successful consultants will be engaged whenever the training or consultancy opportunity becomes available. The consultant will be engaged on a part time basis for the duration of the training/consultancy assignment.
