Summary
Undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff, visitors and premises. The role holder will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior. He/She will also ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and quick response to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents.
Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY RESULTS AREAS:
- Assist the Head of Security in developing, implementing, and reviewing Security policies, SOPs, and governance structures
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, customers and visitors within the working environment
- Ensure compliance with all the company’s security standards and preventative measures
- Monitor the premises, respond to emergency situations and keep track of all incidents on-site.
- Monitor and analyse CCTV camera footage to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Provide training to staff on Security matters from time to time.
- Institute effective controls to ensure accountability of all goods and equipment movement into and out of the premises.
- Access and egress control - Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people into the premises
- Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on, incidents, and suspicious activities
- Provide and Maintain the Highest Standards of Security Service and Customer Care
- Ensure all exits, doors and windows are secured after end of operations
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
- Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage
- Keep abreast with developments in the Security field and keep all stakeholders informed/updated.
- Supervise the outsourced security service provider to ensure safety and security at all times
- Assist in conducting hazard and risk assessments at the company and promote action plans to monitor and control risks.
- Monitor the operations of all electronic security devices, alarms, and surveillance systems and report any malfunctions.

Education
- Security training from the disciplined forces.
- Bachelor’s degree Criminology and Security Studies, Law enforcement, Disaster Management, or related is an added advantage.

- At least three (3) years as security officer of a reputable organization.
