Summary
Central Community Development Program (CRCDP) in a Non Profit Governmental Organization whose program interventions is to address child poverty through an integrated program approach as well as community empowerment.
Purpose of the Position:
The Program Coordinator is the one to whom the Program Officer reports and performs office duties. The incumbent shall be responsible for community mobilization, planning, implementation and Co-ordination of program interventions in Nakuru and Marigat Sub Counties.
Description
Project Management 60%
- Work closely with the project committees and Central Rift Community Development Program structures to facilitate the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of child centered programs.
- Ensure program activities adherence to financial and program management standards and performance criteria.
- Enhance effective communication at all levels with the Organization, donors and other departments.
- Ensure the timely and effective implementation and reporting of all activities as well as the successful achievement of proposed outcomes and intended impact
- Facilitate community trainings and capacity building initiatives
Resource Mobilization 40%
- To take the lead in identifying funding opportunities, listing them and sharing the information with the Program Coordinator.
- Take lead in funding proposal writing processes. This involves writing project and budget plan proposals in coordination with the Sponsorship, Programs and Finance Department.
- Spearheading Fundraising and resource mobilization initiatives.
- To assist in developing a resource mobilization Work plan and constantly follow-up the implementation of the plan. This involves designing and writing materials for communications with different prospective donors and agencies
- To assist in mobilizing financial and non-financial resources from private sectors entities, individuals and corporate agencies.
- Carry out other activities and duties as required to support Central Rift Community Development Program objectives.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community development, Child psychology or related disciplines.
More Details on Experience
- Three years’ experience in designing or implementing community development Projects.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a resource mobilization role and managing partnerships with demonstrated success in all aspects of resource mobilization (targeting, proposal writing, sales, negotiation, reporting)
- Demonstrated understanding of how to develop successful proposals and initiatives to leverage funding and build awareness and support in these areas.
