The U.S. Embassy Nairobi is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Assistant

Description

  • The incumbent serves as HR Assistant with primary responsibility to administer LE Staff medical benefits, pension, and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) benefits.
  • Incumbent processes all types of personnel actions and Official Residence Employee (ORE) contracts, provide support for HR outreach events, meetings, or workshops/training, and is the point of contact for families impacted by the 1998 Embassy Nairobi bombing. 
  • Direct supervision provided by HR Assistant.

Education

  • Completion of Secondary School 
  •  2 years of College Studies is a must
  • Level IV English proficiency (fluent, reading/writing/speaking) is required (This may be tested) and Level III Kiswahili proficiency (Good working knowledge/ reading/writing/speaking) is required.

More Details on Experience

A minimum of two years of administrative-related work experience is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Must be service-oriented and possess tact and patience in various settings. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites. 
  • Ability to be self-directed and manage time to best use. 
  • Ability to manage information, including a high level of detail orientation. 
  • Ability to draft memos, cables, and letters with minimal correction.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

  • Must be familiar with Mission Organization in general and personnel functions in particular; 
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Webpass usage.
