This TV station has made significant strides in engaging its audience with content that resonates with their beliefs, contributing positively to the community it serves. In line with its strategic goals and commitment to excellence, the organization is currently seeking to recruit a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead the station.

Description

The General Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the TV station. This leadership position involves close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, and department heads to ensure seamless operations across all facets of the station, including content generation, product development, marketing, stakeholder engagement and compliance with broadcasting standards. The ideal candidate will be a leader capable of balancing creative vision with operational efficiency, firmly upholding the organization's faith-based mission while ensuring adherence to the highest broadcasting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the CEO and the Board of Directors to develop and implement the station’s strategic direction.
  2. Oversee administrative and operational activities across all departments, ensuring a cohesive strategy for content generation, product development, transmission, pricing, sales, and marketing.
  3. Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  4. Analyze performance data to measure productivity, goal achievement, and identify improvement areas.
  5. Manage personnel functions, including recruitment, training, and evaluation, to cultivate a skilled and dedicated team.
  6. Direct financial operations to optimize content investments and enhance overall station efficiency.
  7. Develop and execute marketing strategies and sales promotions in coordination with department managers.
  8. Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including staff, associations, regulators, content, and satellite providers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  9. Ensure content and operations comply with legal, statutory, regulatory requirements, and maintain the station's reputation as a leading faith-based broadcaster.
  10. Strong marketing, advertising, and sales promotion knowledge, with the ability to leverage video content for maximum impact.

Education

  • University degree in Business Administration, Mass Communication, Broadcasting Engineering, or a related field.

More Details on Experience

  • Significant experience in a leadership role within a TV station, with a preference for candidates with experience in a faith-based broadcasting environment.
  • Deep understanding of broadcast journalism principles, as well as technical, legal, and ethical standards in broadcasting.
  • Experience with the production process and familiarity with modern broadcasting and satellite operations.
