Job Role Summary:

Provides overall strategic financial leadership and direction and oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting within the organization.

Description

  • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Provide overall strategic financial leadership and direction to the organization
    • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making
    • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgetary assessments.
  • Treasury and Risk Management:
    • Manage the organization's liquidity, cash flow, and investment portfolios
    • Develop strategies to optimize financial resources and mitigate financial risks
  • Tax and Compliance Oversight:
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal financial policies
    • Work closely with external auditors in preparation for annual audits and tax-related matters
  • Financial Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
    • Coordinate financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
    • Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with overall organizational goals
  • Cost Management:
    • Analyze costs associated with operations and other ancillary activities of the organization.
    • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
  • Financial Systems and Technology Management:
    • Manage and optimize financial systems and software
    • Collaborate with the IT department to implement and enhance financial technology solutions
  • Sustainability Finance Integration:
    • Focus on integrating sustainability goals into financial strategies
    • Explore and implements financial initiatives aligned with environmental and social responsibility
  • Asset Management
  • Oversee the management of the company’s assets, including property, equipment, and other tangible and intangible assets.
  • Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of assets to maximize returns.
  • Develop and implement asset management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular asset audits and valuations to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the company has adequate insurance coverage.
  • Investment Management:
  • Oversee the company’s investment activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
  • Evaluate and manage the company’s capital structure and funding strategies.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s investment portfolio.
  •   Stakeholder Relations:
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategy to shareholders and the board of directors.
  • Represent the company in financial negotiations and discussions.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and development.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Ensure the finance team is aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Project Management Professional (PMP).

More Details on Experience

  • Relevant experience of 5 -7 years in financial management and project management,
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial Candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and financial software systems.
  • Possess excellent project management skills including the ability to develop project plans, allocate resources, monitor progress and ensure successful project delivery
  • A member of a professional body and in good standing
