The Agency Sales Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth by implementing innovative agency sales strategies. This role is focused on maximizing print and cross-platform advertising sales, acquiring new business, retaining key accounts, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and compliance with commercial policies.
Description
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans targeting media buying agencies and direct corporate advertisers.
- Proactively pitch The Star's media solutions through compelling presentations, mockups, and audience insights.
- Regularly engage clients to secure advertising deals across print, digital, and integrated platforms.
- Ensure a steady pipeline of new leads and regularly onboard new clients, logging activity in the CRM/ERP system.
- Account Management
- Manage and grow assigned agency and corporate client portfolios.
- Deliver exceptional client servicing, including ongoing communication, campaign updates, and timely delivery of artworks.
- Reconcile client accounts monthly and liaise with finance to ensure accurate billing and collections.
- Forecasting & Reporting
- Submit weekly sales forecasts and activity reports with clear status updates and revenue projections.
- Provide feedback to the sales manager on potential business risks and opportunities within the portfolio.
- Credit Control & Collections
- Ensure all invoices are followed up and payments collected within the different credit windows.
- Flag potential defaults early and escalate where necessary to ensure adherence to the credit policy.
- Market Intelligence & Industry Insights
- Conduct market research and gather intelligence on competitor activity, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify white-space opportunities within sectors not yet penetrated or underutilized by The Star.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the editorial, design, digital, and marketing teams to co-create custom client solutions.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams across Radio Africa Group platforms to support bundled or cross-media sales.
- Brand Representation
- Represent The Star professionally and uphold brand integrity in all engagements.
- Maintain professional grooming and conduct as a company ambassador in all external and internal interactions.
Education
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

- 1–2 years of experience in media sales, agency coordination, or related commercial roles.
