JOB DESCRIPTION


PURPOSE:
To provide strategic direction for select programs, oversee implementation and related administrative aspects.
He/ She must liaise effectively and develop consensus among key stakeholders including donors, national, county, public, private and other NGO partners to assure successful implementation of programs.

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of projects which are defined from time to time and can be long term or short-term including Malaria, TB, HIV, RMNCAH among others Provide managerial direction to programs team to ensure programmatic and financial integrity of the projects.
  • Drive the execution strategy of the portfolio of projects providing proper guidance to the management team.
  • Drive innovation in programming and course correction strategies ensuring that projects are nimble and responsive to changing environment / needs
  • Proactively grow the portfolio of the programs by tapping into opportunities for growth and through active resource mobilization
  • Participate in the implementation of PS Kenya’s strategic plans and fundraising proposals.
  • Lead the development and submission of all technical project reports and contractual deliverables, including work plans, quarterly and annual reports, in close collaboration with the donors and the project team.
  • Mentor, support, supervise and manage the project teams and align their efforts to ensure the achievement of program objectives. Working with the Head of Programs, identify the necessary resources needed to deliver the projects effectively including human resources.
  • Represent PS Kenya and the projects in various platforms including key donor and MOH meetings.
  • Fostering good relationships with stakeholders and other partners to make sure that there is synergy in execution and project achieves desired outcomes.
  • Answerable to deliverables of project budget and management of stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee performance monitoring and evaluation to ensure all project targets are met or exceeded, making recommendations for improvement in project implementation.
  • Proactively identify problems involving project implementation and make appropriate implementation and programmatic adjustments to meet contractual objectives and results.

Education
Advanced Degree

Academic Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Public Health, Business Administration or other related fields.

More Details on Experience

  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant professional experience managing and implementing donor projects.
  • Technical qualifications to manage a diversity of projects and representations at the Ministry of Health.
