Introduction

We currently have an exciting job opportunity for a senior, managerial role in Kenya. We are currently looking for a Territory Manager for our Power Systems line of business. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the position will develop marketing and sales strategies in order to grow the Power Power Systems business in the assigned territory or as directed by the RGM as required.
 

Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and serve as an interface for the Power Systems products to the DBU, consulting engineers, design/build contractors and end users,
- Determine Customer needs and translate them into a Cummins Customer Led Solution,
- Assist with the development of sales opportunities by designing, engineering or specifying product so as to create availability,
- Assist the area PGBU Distributors by training, the provision of advice, specifications and pricing where applicable and to assist where required in large or complex sales / project opportunities,
- Take responsibility for the achievement of the sales and profits for the regional Power Systems Business,
- Preparation of the annual operating plan and forecasts for the Power Systems Business,
- Development of the Power Systems Business pricing strategies and pricing levels for the region,
- Lead the efforts to develop the Cummins Power Generation systems portfolio for the region,
- Coordinate regional manufacturing plants to ensure they have the capabilities to handle new systems initiatives,
- Serve as the liaison with the global design engineers regarding regional technical requirements and the development of Power System products,
- Define and implement as required training seminars/presentations to increase the Power Systems awareness and knowledge,
- Develop sales and marketing strategies for the Power Systems business to maximize sales of Cummins products in the region,
- Lead the implementation of distribution development initiatives and strategies,
- Provide marketing leadership in new product introduction projects.

Key Requirements:
- Experience of marketing strategy and distribution development in a multi-national organization,
- 5 + years experience in sales, application or engineering of power systems, or similar related products,
- Broad understanding of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage High Horsepower (1MW - 3MW) diesel gensets and associated controls & switchgear,
- Power Distribution experience, knowledge of relevant products,
- Extensive knowledge of standards and regulations pertaining to LV and MV switchgear and controls solutions.
- Degree in either a technical (Electrical or Power Engineering) or commercial discipline or extensive relevant education / experience. MBA is desirable,
- PowerGen market experience is a plus.
