Introduction

The U.S. Mission in Nairobi is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Senior Public Health Technical Advisor (MVIP) - CDC (Kisumu). The position will be available immediately. Closing date for this position is 16th April 2019
 

Minimum Requirements

EXPERIENCE: 

At least 5 years of public health experience in the management of diseases relevant to child health is required, including 3 years of working with ministries of health is required.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Must have technical knowledge of medicine, epidemiology and public health relevant to the East African region.

Education Requirements:

Education:

Medical qualification (United States MD or local equivalent) is required.

 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: 

Level IV (fluent) Reading/speaking /writing English is required. (This may be tested).

Level III (good) Reading/speaking /writing Kiswahili is required.

Job Specification

Basic Function of the Position:

 

This position will serve as the Kenya Malaria Vaccine Implementation Program (MVIP) Evaluation Coordinator. In this role, the incumbent will lead the MVIP evaluation on all matters relating to strategic planning and implementation for the MVIP.

 

Jobholder shares oversight responsibilities for the development and implementation of public health-related technical program activities and has supervisory responsibility for day-to-day coordination of the program’s technical and administrative management activities to implement the MVIP evaluation in Kenya. The CDC Malaria Research Program Director directly supervises position.
