Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
- At least ten (10) years of project management experience in a busy food processing plant.
- Experience in ensuring food safety (HACPP etc.) requirements are designed in from the start.
- Highly proficient in the use of MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Visio.
- Experience of operating in and managing situations characterized by complexity, ambiguity and high levels of uncertainty with an ability to map out and understand complex, highly interdependent issues - to distil simple, elegant and cost effective solutions;
- Experience in translating the business issues being addressed to project management activities;
- Experience in balancing the delivery of tactical and strategic objectives;
- Experience in constructively challenging sponsors, stakeholders and budget holders

A Vacancy for Project Manager (minimum 10 years Project Managment experience) has arisen within Tea Extracts Division in Kericho. We wish to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to fill this position.
KEY RES PONSIBILITIES
- Provide project management leadership to the project teams;
- Day-to-day management of the task and completion of project deliverables using agreed resources, by agreed dates, to agreed quality, within an agreed budget, and delivered safely;
- Commercial management of third party contracts to ensure timely delivery of deliverables;
- Lead front end capital and asset planning processes, establish and manage the project plan including mapping of internal and external dependencies to provide the facts and data required to allow the business to make robust investment decisions.
- Provide effective leadership on business case by rigorously challenging assumptions, benefits, resource requirements and timelines provided by stakeholders;
- Focused on output, content and delivery ensure the project has tangible progress / momentum.
- Coach the work stream leads to support successful development and implementation of project management capabilities and processes (e.g. change control, process safety risk assessments, capital approval and use of suitable governance stage gates);
- Ensure the project complies with relevant regulatory requirements, local and global standards (Planning / Code / License to Operate as well as Food Safety; GMP and world class EHS standards);
- Support the Project Sponsors to ensure they operate within the Project Management process so that project scope, benefits, and objectives are adequately defined to allow development of an effective business case at the earliest stage and to ensure business change management is effectively implemented to keep project and business objectives aligned;
- Identify, engage and manage stakeholders whilst ensuring effective communications plans are in place and managed on an on-going basis.
- Implement and use an effective projects tracking / reporting process for key criteria (e.g. time / KPIs / benefits / quality / safety) suitable for reporting at various management levels;
- Effectively manage financial commitments and value of work done to operate within budget and provide early warning of schedule and cost outcome;
- Review of the project portfolio of opportunities to maintain a pipeline for a 3 year plan
- Quarterly re-forecasts of cash flow and annual project spend
- Participate in trials &experiments for new product development and product improvement.
- Ensure timely financial (spend to date) and project progress (forecasting) reporting
